Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Former Oregon cornerback Cliff Harris has been arrested after witnesses reported him fighting with his girlfriend outside a restaurant. The arrest for alleged domestic harassment in Hillsboro on Friday comes less than a week after the 22-year-old player was cut from the New York Jets following an arrest for alleged marijuana possession.

PHOENIX (AP) – Oregon coach Mark Helfrich has a head start on the Pac-12’s two other new coaches. The former offensive coordinator under Chip Kelly should make a seamless transition now that his ex-boss is coaching the Philadelphia Eagles. Mike MacIntyre of Colorado and California’s Sonny Dykes could have a tougher time turning around programs that have struggled lately.

YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) – Washington State athletic director Bill Moos says he believes the third season of Mike Leach will be when the Cougars start winning. Speaking at the Associated Press Sports Editors Northwest region conference yesterday, Moos said he thinks the Cougars may be hard-pressed to win six games in 2013 – Leach’s second year – with a difficult schedule.
