Vikings Maintain Position in Far West; Mapleton Drops in MWL

The top three teams in the Far West Volleyball rankings remain that way this morning… the Siuslaw Vikings downed North Bend in four games last night and Sutherlin beat South Umpqua in Three.  The Vikings and blue Bulldogs stay tied in 2nd place at the season’s midpoint with matching 5-1 records.  Marshfield beat Brookings-Harbor in three games to remain undefeated.  Douglas had the night off.

In the Mountain West League, Lowell remains undefeated.  They beat Mapleton last night in three games.  McKenzie beat Alsea last night, moving the Eagles into sole possession of 2nd place behind Lowell.  Mapleton, at 5-2 drops to third.

Looking at the schedule… Siuslaw football is on the road to Sutherlin this evening for Far West League play.  Kickoff is at seven… the pregame show on Coast Radio Sports is at 6:45.  Elsewhere in the league, North Bend is at South Umpqua; Brookings-Harbor at Marshfield.  Douglas will host Hidden Valley for a non-league game.

In the Mountain West, Crow is at Mapleton.  And in the 2A, Reedsport will be at North Douglas in Drain.

On the cross country course tomorrow the Siuslaw Vikings will be in Eugene for the Northwest Classic at Lane Community College… and on the college gridiron number 2 Oregon has the weekend off… Oregon State is at San Diego State for non-conference play at 4:30… the pregame show on KCFM is set for 3:30.
