Elyssa Rose had seven kills, Katy Greenlief added four kills and the Siuslaw Vikings easily downed the Brookings-Harbor Bruins last night in three games for a Far West Volleyball victory.  In other Far West contests, Marshfield beat Douglas in three.  That keeps the Pirates and the Vikings tied at the top of the standings with matching 6-and-1 records.  Sutherlin broke a third place tie last night, downing North Bend in four games.  South Umpqua had the night off.

Coming Up This Weekend

On the cross country course tomorrow… Honeyman State Park and the East Woahink Day Use Area will be the site of the annual Woahink Invitational… dozens of teams made up of hundreds of competitors from middle and high schools in Western Oregon will compete beginning at ten AM.  Watch for congestion on Canary Road through at least two pm.

On the gridiron tonight… it’s the first ever Far West League matchup between the Siuslaw Vikings and the Marshfield Pirates at Hans Peterson Field in Florence… the pregame show is set for 6:45 on Coast Radio Sports… kickoff at seven.  Reedsport is at Riddle… Mapleton is at Triangle Lake.

The number two Oregon Ducks are ready to hit the field tomorrow after a week off.  They’ll host the Cal Bears at 7:30.  The pregame show on KCST is at six.

Oregon State returns to Pac-12 play tomorrow as well… they’ll host Colorado at noon.  The pregame show on KCFM is at 11 AM.
