SEATTLE (AP) – The tallest NCAA player came up big as 7-foot-6 Mamadou Ndiaye scored 18 points, added nine blocks and eight rebounds to lead UC Irvine to an 86-72 win over Washington. Will Davis had a team-high 22 points for the Anteaters, while Luke Nelson added 11 points and six assists.

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – Aaryn Ellenberg’s jumper with 1:56 left in the game lifted No. 11 Oklahoma into a lead the Sooners could finally hold onto and turn away No. 25 Gonzaga 82-78 in a semifinal-round battle in the preseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament yesterday. Gonzaga nursed a slim lead throughout most of the game. Haiden Palmer had 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Gonzaga (2-1).

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Percy Harvin’s debut for the Seattle Seahawks is closer to becoming a reality. Harvin was a full participant in practice for the first time this season yesterday and his debut could come Sunday against his former team, the Minnesota Vikings. Harvin had hip surgery on Aug. 1 to repair an injured labrum. Harvin’s debut could come Sunday.

PASADENA, Calif. (AP) – Myles Jack knows everybody is wondering what he’ll do for an encore. UCLA’s linebacker turned tailback isn’t expecting to run wild when Washington visits the Rose Bowl tonight. He’s just hoping to contribute to a win over his hometown team. Nobody will be surprised if a high-scoring contest breaks out between two teams still hoping for big finishes.
