LINCOLN City, Ore. (AP) – The police chief in the Oregon coastal town of Lincoln City says a woman who fatally shot herself after an hours-long standoff with police, and a man who was injured by a police car had both been sought in the armed robbery of a Montana coin shop. In Montana earlier this week, Butte-Silver Bow County Sheriff Ed Lester said warrants had been issued for Dale Edward Wallace and Sarah Jo Johnson, both 30.

COTTAGE GROVE, Ore. (AP) – The private attorney who serves as the city of Cottage Grove’s legal counsel has been charged with misdemeanor assault. The Register-Guard newspaper reports Oregon State Police arrested 44-year-old Sean Kelly on Thursday night. He is accused of assaulting a 40-year-old woman he knows.

SHERIDAN, Ore. (AP) – Authorities have arrested a reserve police officer accused of assaulting his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son. McMinnville police arrested 34-year-old Michael Abo early yesterday at his home in Sheridan. Sheriff’s deputies discovered the injured child when responding to a medical call at the officer’s home on New Year’s Eve. The boy was taken to a Portland hospital, where he is in critical condition.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Bend has two code enforcement employees for the first time since the recession, and that means there will be greater enforcement of the city’s snow-removal law. To keep sidewalks safe, city code requires businesses to remove snow within the first six hours of daylight after it has fallen. Residents, meanwhile, must shovel sidewalks within 24 hours of the snowfall.
