Police are looking for a silver minivan, which likely sustained significant front and windshield damage.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) – Detectives say a 73-year-old Oregon man is facing extradition for the 1981 slaying of a man in northern Arizona. The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office says Robert Rodriquez Resendez will be extradited in Medford. Resendez is accused of robbing and killing Jerry Heath outside of Flagstaff.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon handwriting analysis unit quietly shut down more than a year ago after police discovered two of its examiners committed a serious error in a suspected murder-for-hire case. The Oregonian reports the two analysts were put on paid leave for nine months before the unit was shuttered and the workers laid off. Experts say handwriting examination has lost some of its relevancy.
