Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SEATTLE (AP) – Hisashi Iwakuma scattered four hits over eight innings and Corey Hart hit an RBI single to lift the Seattle Mariners over the Kansas City Royals 1-0 last night. Seattle won for the 11th time in 14 games since losing eight straight from April 15-22. Iwakuma (2-0) struck out seven and walked none.

SAN ANTONIO (AP) – Kawhi Leonard scored 20 points, Tony Parker had 16 points and 10 assists, and the San Antonio Spurs rolled to a 114-97 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers last night for a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference semifinals. Nicolas Batum scored 21 points for Portland. The Trail Blazers host Game 3 tomorrow night.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks traded the final pick in the first round of the NFL draft, picking up an additional second-round selection and a fourth-round pick from Minnesota. Seattle’s trade last night was not a surprise considering its relative lack of picks. The Seahawks entered the draft with just six selections and would have had the fewest for the franchise since 2006. Seattle is scheduled to have two second-round picks today.

METAIRIE, La. (AP) – The New Orleans Saints have drafted Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks 20th overall after trading with Arizona to move up from the 27th slot in the first round of the NFL draft last night. Cooks caught 128 passes for 1,730 yards and 16 touchdowns in 2013, when he won the Biletnikoff award as the top receiver in the nation.
