College Basketball:
Dwayne Benjamin scored 18 points and Joseph Young hit an insurance 3-pointer late in overtime to lead Oregon to a 69-67 victory over UC Irvine last night. Dillon Brooks added 15 points and Elgin Cook had 14 for the 10 and 3 Ducks, who closed out their nonconference schedule with their second straight overtime win.
The Beavers are on the hardwood this evening against UC Santa Barbara. Non- Conference hoop action tonight in Corvallis airs at 6 o’clock, tip off on Miller Court is set for 6:30 on KCFM
Two Siuslaw Wrestlers came away with championship trophies from Saturday’s 17 team Willamette Wrestling Invitational; Ricky Huff claimed the 106 pound weight class, while Isaiah Burkhalter won at 132 pounds. Bringing home third place wins were Jose De la Mora at 120 pounds, and John Mullholland at 113 pounds. Dylan Jennings finished in the 285 pound bracket in 4th place. The Viks are off the mat until Saturday’s Riddle Wrestling Invitational.
