Lose 4 of 5 games in series against Everett

After winning 15 straight, the Eugene Emeralds have now lost four of their last five games… last night Emeralds batters managed only one hit in a one-run shutout loss to the Everett Aqua Sox.  They’ll have the evening off tonight… then head to Keizer tomorrow where they’ll begin a three-game weekend series against the Volcanoes.

Annual pre-season scrimmage for prep football

The annual Blue-Gold Siuslaw Football game tomorrow night will include an introduction of the Viking Volleyball squad for 2016.

Football warm-ups at Hans Petersen Field begin at 6:30 with team introductions at seven.  After a brief presentation by first year football coach Jamin Pool, the team will scrimmage.

Siuslaw football gets underway September 2nd in Elmira against the Falcons.  Volleyball opens the season the day before at Philomath.  Viking Cross Country begins competition September 9th and 10th in Monmouth at Western Oregon University’s Ash Creek Cross Country Festival.
