Viking Cross Country
Siuslaw’s Isaac Griffes (GRIFF-ess) ran his fastest time ever, 17:21, Jack Pickell was two-tenths of a second behind him as the duo finished 6th and 7th overall yesterday at the North Bend Cross Country Invitational at Tugman State Park in Lakeside.
Freshman Kiger Johnson was 15th, followed by Jordan Northrop and Ryan Alletson in 18th and 19th and the boys scored 62 points to edge North Bend for 2nd place. Bandon won the meet with 45.
For the girls, Celie Mans ran in 18:36 for second place. Destinie Tatum was 15th; Hannah Rannow (RAN-no) and Chloe Madden were 17th and 18th. Anna Wartnik rounded out the Lady Vikings scoring in 29th and Siuslaw was third behind North Bend and South Umpqua.

Siuslaw is in Coos Bay against the Marshfield Pirates for Far West League play. In the Mountain West, Mapleton is in Siletz against the Warriors.
