The Mapleton Sailors travelled to Alsea for Mountain West League play Thursday night.  The Lady Wolverines won the opener 45-24.  The night cap boys’ game went to the Sailors though, 82-23.  Next up for the Sailors will be the Lakers in Triangle Lake Tuesday night.

The Siuslaw Vikings open the Far West League basketball schedule tonight at home against the South Umpqua Lancers.  The Lady Vikings bring a 5-and-8 preseason record to the court while the South Umpqua girls are four-and-ten.  The South Umpqua boys are 9-and-5 headed into league play, ranked number 14 in the state.  Siuslaw is 5-and-8.  The pregame show begins on KCST at 5:45; the girls tip off at six; the boys right after.   In other Far West games, Douglas will be at North Bend, Marshfield is at Brookings-Harbor.

Prep Wrestling

The weigh-ins begin at 7:30 tomorrow morning at Siuslaw High School with competition set to begin at 9:30 for the annual Nick Lutz (LOOTZ) Wrestling Invitational.  Wrestlers from 21 different schools will be in competition through the day.  Finals will begin around 4:30 in the afternoon.

College Basketball

It’s Civil War basketball tomorrow night in Eugene as the 13th ranked Oregon Ducks host Oregon State at 7:30… the pregame show begins on both KCST and KCFM at seven pm.
