Ems On Win Streak; Ducks and Beavers Move Towards Season Openers

Emeralds on 3 Game Streak

The Eugene Emeralds are back to their winning ways as of late.  Currently the Ems are in the middle of a 5 game series against the Spokane Indians and this weekend they took the first 3 games, winning on Friday 3-2, and on Saturday 4-1.  On Sunday it took 12 innings to decide the game as the Indians took a one run lead in the first inning.  It looked like the Indians may take the game as they led 1-nothing into the bottom of the ninth when Ems Catcher, Gustavo Polanco hit a sacrifice fly scoring second baseman Jared Young tying the game 1-1.  A series of singles and a walk led to the winning run in the bottom of the 12th and the Ems win 2-1.  Game 4 is this evening at PK Park.  First pitch is at 7:05.

Ducks and Beavers End Week 2 of Camp

The Ducks and Beavers both held scrimmages over the weekend as week two of training camp comes to a close.  The Beavers open their season at Colorado State on August 26th.  The Ducks opener will be at home against Southern Utah on September 2nd.
