Athlete Of The Week: Ryan Rendon-Padilla

The Sports Club, The Siuslaw News, and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Ryan Rendon-Padilla as Coast Radio Sport’s Athlete of the Week.  Ryan took first place and set a personal record in the Javelin this past week with a throw of 167 ft 6 in.  The fifth best throw in school history.    Honorable mention goes to Brea Blankenship who scored a victory in the 800m with a time of 2:41.51

Vikings on the Road in Sutherlin

The Vikings continue non league play against the Bulldogs in Sutherlin.  This afternoon’s pregame is at 3:45, first pitch is at 4 o’clock weather and field conditions permitting, over Coast Radio Sports… The Lady Viks take on the Bulldogs in non league softball.  First pitch in Sutherlin between Siuslaw and Sutherlin is at 4 o’clock….

Mapleton Track

Mapleton Track and Field action gets under way this afternoon as the Sailors host the Mapleton 300 beginning at 4 o’clock.

Sweet 16 Set

In the Sweet Sixteen of the Women’s NCAA tournament, the Oregon State women will return to the hardwood on Friday evening against the Baylor Bears.  Oregon now knows who they will play on Saturday.  Last night Central Michigan defeated Ohio State 95-78 to advance into the sweet sixteen.
