Far West League District Championships; Duck and Beaver Update:

Far West League District Championships

Over the weekend it was the Far West League District Championships.  The Siuslaw Vikings had a good showing on their home field.  Sophomore Brendon Jenson finished first in the 1500 and 3000 meter races. Sophomore Ryan Rendon-Padilla finished first in the javelin with a 172-1.00 distance for a personal record. Senior Isaac Griffes finished 3 in the 3000.  Freshman Ryan Jennings finished second in the 300 meter hurdles with a personal record of 44.46.  Trent Reavis finished second in the shot put with a toss of 51-2.00 his best throw of the season.  KC Tatum finished second in the discus with a toss of 134.04.

For the Lady Viks, senior Hannah Rannow finished first in the 800 meter with a time of 1:22.17 as well as a first place finish in the 3000 meter.  In 1500 meter finals freshman Brea Blankenship and sophomore Anne Wartnick finished first and second in the 1500 meters both with personal record times.  Brea finished with a time of 5:10.04 and Anne was 3/10ths of a second behind with a 5:10.34.  Freshman Gracie Freudenthal finished in first place in the 100 and 300 meter hurdles.  Her time in the 100 was 15.96 and a personal record best in the 300 with a time of 47.42.  the team of Shoji, Rannow, Blankenship and Freudenthal took first place in the 4×400 relay with a time of 4:14.03

In the shotput Siuslaw finished in the top three positions with Freshman Andrea Osbon setting the pace with a personal record toss of 37-4.25.  Junior Madison Reynolds came in second with a 34-10.75 toss and sophomore Lizzy Lewis finishe third with a personal record toss of 34-3.50.  Osbon also finishe first in the discus with a personal record throw of 104-11.0.  as a team the boys and girls both finished 3rd overall in the district championship meet.

Duck and Beaver Update:

Oregon Ducks took 3 games from the Utah Utes at home this weekend 6-2, 13-1 and 4-3.

The OSU Beavers took 2 of three from Stanford 6-2, 10-nothing and a9-6 loss on Sunday.
