Lady Viks Set Season

The Lady Vikings were in action last night at Glenn Butler Court as they begin the volleyball season.  It was a 5 set match with the Vikings taking the advantage 25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 25-16, 15-8.  Makenzie York did not debut last night due to a foot injury but the Vikings stepped up with great performances by veteran players Mia Collins and Alyssa Richards providing 17 and 10 kills respectively.  But it was incoming freshman Hayden Muller that had a huge impact on the team with 19 kills and 3 aces.  Next up for the lady viks is the Bandon jamboree on September 4th.

Ems Shut Out Dust Devils

Offense did not start until the bottom of the 5th inning, but the Eugene emeralds put a string of hits together in the next 4 innings that brought them 5 runs and a shut out of the visiting Tri City Dust Devils. Eury Ramos pitched 6 and a third innings for the Ems allowing only one hit.  It would be the Dust Devils only hit on the night.  This evening it is game two of a four game series at PK Park between Eugene and the Tri Cities Dust Devils is set for 7:05 at PK Park.  The series continues through Monday evening.

Football Jamboree

This evening the Siuslaw Viking football team is scheduled to head to Grant’s Pass for the North Valley High School Jamboree.  The Vikings will scrimmage against Rogue River and Douglas weather and air quality permitting.
