Hard Fought Battle by Mapleton Sailors
Last night on the Hardwood the Mapleton Sailors had an epic battle against the Mustangs of Mohawk High School in Marcola. The Sailors had an 8 point lead going into the 4th quarter, but Sailor Coach Eric Wolgamott said they let the lead slip away. Wolgamott says they are still learning how to win close games. Brother’s Nate and JJ Neece led the scoring for the Sailors with 11 and 8 points respectively. The final score was 32-31 mustangs.
On the girls side the Mustangs dominate d the Sailors with a 61-16 finish.
Prep Hardwood Tonight
The preps are on the hardwood tonight for boys and girls double header play. Siuslaw takes on the Billies of Pleasant Hill. Pregame on KCST is at 5:45, tip off from Siuslaw High School for game one is at 6 o’clock, game two of the evening is at 7:30.
Tournament Wrestling
The Siuslaw mat men and women are in Grants Pass for the Winter Kick off Wrestling tournament. Fifteen teams are set to complete today and Saturday.
College Hoops:
On the college boards tonight it’s Oregon State women taking on Eastern Washington in the Maui Classic, tomorrow the Beaver women will take on Texas A&M in tournament play.
On the court tomorrow evening it’s Oregon hosting the Boise State Broncos on the hard wood of Matthew Knight Arena. Pregame on KCST is at 6:30, tip off on the Tall Timbers is set for 6 o’clock.
The Oregon State men will be taking on the Aggies of Texas A&M at 8 o’clock in the Dam City Basketball Classic. Pregame on KCFM is at 7:30.
