PAC Committee Chairman Harlan Springer said they are excited to be receiving the funds.  The Oregon Community Foundation inserts more than 100 million dollars annually into Oregon through grants and scholarships.  The announcement comes on the week of the Public Paint Day for the Mural Project on the Central Lincoln PUD building.  That happens today from 11 am through 3 pm.

Dune Restoration Efforts

The Oregon Dunes Restoration Project has drafted updated plans for the coastal dunes.  According to a release from the U.S. Department of Agriculture the project is seeking public comment over the next 30 days.  The goal of the project is to try to restore the dunes to their original status prior to the introduction of invasive European grasses that now have overtaken much of the area from just south of Sea Lion Caves to Coos Bay.  Sensitivities to several species along the coast including the Snowy Plover is high on priority list while also dealing with changing hydrologic conditions and maintaining recreational uses.  There are several ways to provide comments which are listed below.
