The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore wrestler Hayden Muller as this week’s Athlete of the Week, Hayden defeated three opponents by fall in last weekend’s Cottage Grove Invitational to take the title in the girls 135 pound class.
Honorable mention goes to junior Heather Wierichs who had a season high 17 points on Saturday as the Mapleton Sailor Girls basketball team defeated McKenzie 37-18.
Ducks Drop UConn
The Number 2 lady Ducks defeated the 11 time national champion UConn Huskies 74-56 yesterday afternoon. Ruthy Hebard had 22 points and 12 rebounds in the rout .
