Track and Field
This Friday and Saturday Heyward field will be filled with student athletes competing in the Oregon relays. From Siuslaw there will be 16 Vikings representing the school. The Viking 4×100 and 4×400 relay team will compete. In the Pole Vault Justin Allen, Will Johnson and Dylan Jensen take part and Dylan will also run the 800 meter and Will is part of the 4×100 team and will compete in the triple jump. Freshman Davian Frazier is entered in the 100 meter and Braydon Linton will compete in the 2 mile run. Ray Brito-Xilot, Derick Vanduch, Wes Nicholls and Kale Jensen all participate in the relay teams and Kale will also compete on the High jump.
For the ladies Corduroy Holbrook will run the 800 and Alison Hughes will run the 2 mile. Sisters Jane and Danin Lacouture are entered in the shot put. Other runners in the 2 mile are Macy and Addison McNeill. Maya Wells will run the mile.
Baseball
The Siuslaw Vikings will head to cottage Grove today to take on the 4A Lions. The game will be on KCST beginning at 4:15. Viking softball will host Bandon/Pacific today at 4:30.
Mapleton Track
Yesterday’s run for the clover track and field event in Waldport saw Mapleton’s Roenin Barrows set a pr in the javelin at 119.8 feet. Tristan Stewart also had a pr with a 118’7” toss. Dom Stewart scored a first place finish in the high jump at 5’6”
