Florence- Eugene Connector

Tomorrow morning and afternoon will be the test runs for Florence’s new bus service to Eugene.  The Florence Eugene Connector will officially begin public runs on Wednesday with two trips scheduled daily.  Service will be operated by Pacific Crestlines which also runs the Coos Bay to Eugene to Bend services.  Service to Eugene from Florence will run 7 days a week leaving from grocery outlet at 9:06 am and a stop at the Gazebo on Bay Street at 9:13 am arriving in Eugene at 10:47 am.  The afternoon run will leave Eugene at 4 pm and arrive at grocery outlet at 5:58 pm.  Cost for a one-way fare is 5.00.  Tickets can be purchased from the driver.  You must have cash and it be in the exact denomination.

ReVision Pavin Begins

Work continues on the ReVision Florence project as crews continue to add new concrete sidewalks at the intersection of Highway 101 and 126.  9th street eastbound is limited to one lane of traffic.  Paving is scheduled this week beginning today and lasting through Thursday with the side street connections going in first and then the 101/126 intersection to follow.  There will be flaggers posted to direct traffic and necessary through traffic should consider using alternate routes to avoid construction areas.  ODOT, in their weekly briefing, reports the project completion date will be in March.

Truffle Seminar

The Siuslaw Watershed Council is offering an introduction to Truffle farming.  The class will be at the SWC’s Mapleton office on Mapleton Road on the campus of Mapleton Schools on Wednesday the 26th of February. From 5:30 – 8:00 pm.  The instructor will be Charles Lefevre the founder of New World Truffieres in Eugene.  There will also be a question and answer session on using dogs for truffle hunting.
