Overheated in the Desert: Ducks and Beavers Falter

The Oregon State Beaver were at McKale Center last night in Tucson to face the Arizona Wildcats.  The Cats had the Beaver’s number capitalizing on 20 turnovers by OSU.  Freshman guard for the Beavers, Jarod Lucas led the team with 18 points in the 89-63 loss.  Oregon State will be in Tempe Saturday for a game against the Sun Devils of ASU, pregame on KCFM is at 4:30.

 

The Oregon Ducks also had their struggles in Arizona.  Last night in Tempe the Ducks fell the ASU 77-72.  The Ducks outrebounded the SunDevils but had a lower shot percentage which led to their defeat.  The Ducks take on the Wildcats Saturday night in a game that airs on KCST with a pregame at 6:30.

Viking Playoff

The Siuslaw Vikings boys are on the hardwood tonight for a SkyEm League play off game in Junction City against the Tigers.  Tonight’s pregame is at 7 o’clock on KCST. The winner of tonight’s game will play Marshfield Monday night.

Viking Wrestling

The Vikings are on the mats of the Regional District Wrestling Meet in Stayton this weekend.

On the Diamond:

Collegiate Baseball has Oregon State facing Mississippi State this afternoon in the first of three games to play throughout the weekend.  While the diamond Ducks are at home hosting the Nevada Wolf Pack in three non conference games at PK Park, beginning with this afternoon’s game at 4 o’clock.

Mapleton Playoff

On the prep hardwood this weekend the Sailor Boys are up against Siletz Valley / Alsea in a Mountain West League Playoff game at 12:30 at Harrisburg High School.
