FLORENCE – On 03/17/2020 at 3:27 pm Florence Police received several 911 calls reporting a vehicle vs pedestrian accident at the intersection of Hwy 101 and Hwy 126. Upon arrival it was determined the pedestrian bike rider was deceased due to injuries from the accident. Initial investigation revealed that the deceased, Danny K. Galloway DOB 08/10/1966 of Florence, rode his bike from a sidewalk into the intersection of the roadway and was struck by a truck turning east onto Hwy 126 from Hwy 101. The operator of the truck, a Ferrellgas propane truck, is cooperating fully with the investigation. Florence Police and Oregon State Police are conducting the investigation, which is ongoing.
