Milb Cancels Season
The Eugene Emeralds officially announced yesterday that the 2020 Milb season has been cancelled. President of the Northwest League, North Johnson says they are hopeful that baseball will return, but for reasons of safety of both players and fans the league thought it best to not move ahead. Johnson says they are preparing for the 2021 season. Johnson also said this is the first time a season has had to be cancelled since the inception of minor league baseball in 1901.
Duck Guard Retires
Oregon Duck women’s basketball player Morgan Yaeger announced that she will not be returning for a fifth season with the Ducks due to a back injury that has been plaguing her in the past several years. The Australian native instead will return home. She hopes to move into coaching at some point. Yaeger graduated this spring but had one year of eligibility left.
