Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports Congratulate senior Viking cross country runner Chad Hughes as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Chad led the Viking charge against a field of 64 runners and 10 teams to take the first place spot in a personal record time of 16:05.00 finishing 22.7 seconds ahead of his closest competitor and teammate Sam Ulrich.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to senior libero and co-captain of the Viking Volleyball squad, Hayden Muller. Hayden had 32 digs and 24 perfect passes in the championship match against North Bend on Saturday while helping the team to get to the championship round with 11 serving aces on the day.
