Viking Basketball

Siuslaw Viking boy’s basketball is now 6-6 on the season after a pair of loses over the weekend.  On Friday the Vikings fell to Hidden Valley 45-40.  Brody Terry put up 20 points in the Loss.

On Saturday the boys faced Mazama losing 67-58  Brody Terry put up 39 points in the loss.  Head Coach Dylan Perry says they have a full week of practice planned for this week as they get ready for the season opener against Marist.

The Viking girl’s basketball were defeated by Henley on Friday night 48-18 and lost to North Valley on Saturday 39-19.

Rhianna Lane had 4 points, 6 rebounds and 7 steals in the Saturday loss.

Viking Wrestling

Viking wrestlers were back on the mat on Saturday at the King of the Hill tournament in Pleasant Hill.  Dayne Muller took top spot in the 195 pound division with 3 Vikings taking home second place honors including Cort Wagonner in the 220 pound division, Mason Buss in the 170 pound weight group and Hunter Petterson in the 138 pound class.  Yoskar De la Mora, John Corser and Joel Sissel placed third.  Four Siuslaw ladies place second in their weight classes, Hayden Muller (145), Brooke Olson (135), Macali Cade (110).  Madison Petterson placed 3rd (120)

Sailor Basketball

The Mapleton Sailors boys basketball team hosted Eddyville Charter on Saturday the Sailors were defeated 65-39.  The Mapleton girls were off this weekend.

Duck/Beavers

The Ducks and the Beavers will resume their rivalry this evening in Corvallis.  The pregame will be on both KCFM and KCST beginning at 6:30.
