Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior wrestler Yoskar DeLaMora as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Yoskar took first place in Saturday’s Nick Lutz Memorial wrestling tournament in the 120 pound weight class defeating 3 opponents by fall culminating in a defeat of Santiam Christians’s Sam Schmidgall in the Championship round.
Honorable mention goes to Makayla Freeman who also took first place in the 135 pound weight class defeating her own teammate, Brooke Olson in the Championship round.
High School Basketball (update)
Mapleton Sailors basketball is scheduled to meet Alsea this evening . the girls will play first at 5:30 followed by the boys at 7 pm.
The Siuslaw Vikings will play this evening at Marshfield the boys will play at 7:15 with a pregame to begin at 7:00 on KCST. The girl’s game has been postponed due to a COVID-19 Exposure.
