Vikings/Hawks

The Siuslaw Vikings couldn’t catch the La Pine Hawks in Friday night’s matchup at Redmond High School.  The Hawks doubled up the Vikings 28-14 in the first league game of the season.  This Friday the Vikings will play at home and take on the Harrisburg Eagles.

Volleyball

Viking Volley ball split a pair of games on Saturday at Sisters taking on Stayton in the first match and winning 2-0.  They then faced the OSAA 4A Dalles falling 0-2.

Ems Crowned Champions

The Eugene Emeralds were crowned Northwest League Champions on Friday Night after sweeping the Vancouver Canadians.  Friday’s game was a 9-7 win.  Luis Toribio had a 3 run homer in the 5th and down by 2 in the top of the ninth Jimmy Glowenke hit a two run shot to center field to tie the game.  In the top of the 10th Glowenke hit another 2 run homer to put the ems on top.  Vancouver went 3 and out in the bottom of the inning to end the game.

Duck Dominance

The Oregon Ducks showed dominance over 15th ranked BYU on Saturday to a sell-out crowd at Autzen Stadium. Scoring 41 points and only allowing BYU 7 in the first half. QB Bo Nix ran for 3 and passed for 2 in the 41-20 win.

Beavers Dam Up Montana State

The Oregon State Beavers were in Portland on Saturday to take on Montana State.  The Beavers put up 538 total yards of offense scoring 68 points:  The 6th highest total in Beaver history holding Montana State to 28.
