Viking Basketball
Viking boy’s basketball completed the first hurdle at the Bandon Dunes Tournament yesterday afternoon defeating Brookings-Harbor 70-35. Andrew Jensen Norman led the Vikings with 19 points. Michael Felkins followed with 13. They will move to the next opponent, Gold Beach today at 4:30.
The Viking girls suffered a defeat against Coquille. The girls only scored 5 points for the game falling 56-5.
College Hoops
The Oregon State Beavers will be at home this evening to host the UCLA Bruins from Gill Coliseum. This will be the start of the Pac-12 season. UCLA is 5-6 on the season and suffering a 4 game losing streak. The Beavers are 8-3 with all three loses coming on the road. Game time on KCFM is 6:30 with a 7pm tipoff.
The Oregon Ducks will also be at home this evening for a game against the USC Trojans. The Trojans are 6-5 coming into Matthew Knight Arena where the Ducks are 6-0 at home and 8-3 so far this season. Tonight’s game will be on KCST beginning at 5:30 with a 6pm tipoff.
