Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate sophomore wrestler Jacob Mann as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Jacob was 7 and 0 over the weekend and has won his last two tournaments pinning his way through competitions. He has a 33-3 overall record and is currently ranked 4th in the state at 175 pounds.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to another Viking wrestler Danin Lacouture. Danin went undefeated this past weekend and according to Coach Neil Wartnik pulled off an impressive win over Hidden Valley’s Kaydence Johnson.
Viking Basketball Win
The Siuslaw Viking boy’s basketball team recovered from Saturday’s loss to take on the Outlaws of Sisters last night. And improving to 2-2 I league play. The Vikings struggled early in the first half but came together with good defense and strong shooting in the second to take the win 62-50.
Outlaws Defeat Lady Vikings
The Siuslaw girls put up 25 against Sisters last night but the Outlaws held on to take the game38-25. Vikings still looking for their first victory.
Tonight both teams are back on the court against Creswell with the boys up first at 6pm with a 5:45 pregame on KCST.
