State Championships in Wrestling -4 Vikings Place
The Siuslaw Vikings had 4 wrestlers place over the weekend in the OSAA State Wrestling Championships. For the girls it was senior Jane Lacouture in the 155 pound weight class who was seeded number 3 who lost by fall in the final round to Hannah Henderson of Harrisburg, junior Macali Lade also finished second with a rematch loss to Harrisburg’s Paxton Steele. For the boys Dayne Muller finished in Third place and Jacob Mann finished in 6th.
Men’s Basketball
Saturday the Cal Bears defeated the Oregon Ducks in men’s basketball in a tight game 69-64. Jermaine Couisnard led the Duck in scoring with 19.
The Oregon State Beavers men’s basketball knocked off Stanford 85-73. Jordan Pope rallied the Beavers with 30 points.
The Ducks and Beavers will face off on Wednesday. The game will air on both KCST and KCFM beginning at 7:30.
Pre-Season Baseball
Spring training baseball continues for Division one teams. The Oregon State Beavers faced Michigan on Saturday and Oklahoma State on Sunday taking the first game 11-1 in 7 innings and 8-1 on Sunday.
The Oregon Ducks are having a good preseason taking their last 4 games. Over the weekend they defeated Lafayette in a double header on Saturday 7-4 and 12-2 and won again on Sunday 12-2.
