Viking Soccer
Viking boys soccer opened their season on the road at Sweet Home with a dominating 8-1 win. Kale Jensen and Camden Linton each scored twice, while Asher Borgnino, Sailor Jensen, Bentley Nelson, and Joel Bates added goals. Siuslaw led 7-0 at halftime, shifted players into new positions after the break, and still controlled the match to seal the victory.
Siuslaw girls soccer opened the season with a 6-1 win over Sweet Home in an endowment game at Hans Petersen Field. It’s the second straight year the Lady Vikings have topped the Lady Huskies to start the year.
Viking Volleyball
Lady Vikings volleyball opened the season at home against second-ranked Pleasant Hill, falling in four sets. Siuslaw battled back after dropping the opener 25-10, taking the second 25-19 before falling 25-7 and 25-19. Kylee Stinger and Stella Duman each tallied 10 points to lead the Vikings, who return to the court Thursday in North Bend for matches against North Bend and Hidden Valley.
