Athlete of the Year
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports are congratulating this year’s Siuslaw High School Athletes of the Year, senior Will Johnson and junior Aidell Cadet. Johnson capped off a standout year with a 3A state title in the long jump and a state runner-up finish in the triple jump, while also dominating on the football field as the Oregonian Two-Way State Player of the Year and both the Offensive and Defensive League Player of the Year, setting school records including 149 tackles in a season. Cadet delivered a historic track season of her own, winning 3A state championships in both the triple jump and high jump, after a four-event sweep at the Central Coast Invitational and top-level finishes in the hurdles as well. Both athletes played key roles in Siuslaw’s success across multiple sports, earning recognition as the top performers of the year.
