Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports Congratulate sophomore wrestler Hayden Muller as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Hayden pinned 3 consecutive opponents at Saturday’s Grants Pass Winter Kick-off meet to take the championship in the 135 pound division.
Honorable Mention goes to another Vikning wrestler, freshman Ian Sissel who pinned 5 consecutive opponents in the 160 pound JV division.
AP Basketball Rankings
The Oregon Ducks men’s basketball team have risen two spots in the AP top 25 rankings. The Ducks, at 10-2 move into the number 6 position. Washington and Arizona also appear in the top 25 at 21 and 24 respectively. the lady Ducks also moved up in the AP poll and are in the number 2 spot. Oregon State follows in the number 3 position with Stanford and UCLA also appearing in the top 10.
