Vikings Topple League Leading Tigers

It is why they play the game…the Siuslaw Viking boys were victorious against the Junction City Tigers Last night.  The now 11-2 Tigers have seemed unbeatable this year, but the Vikings have been improving their team play over the season and were poised for a win last night on the Tiger’s home court.  The Vikings were up 6 at the half.  Brody Terry had 26 points in the win with the Vikings scoring 65 points to the Tiger’s 59.

The Siuslaw girls gave the Tigers a fight even though in the end the tigers topped the Vikings 57-32, Brea Blankenship had 13 on the night.

Sailors Defeat Crow

The Mapleton Sailors beat Crow last night 49-14.  AJ Moso led the team with 19 points.  Coach Eric Wolgamatt said all of the team’s seniors scored for Senior Night including Heather Wierichs and Emily Stevens who played on the boys team.  The Sailors are now 7-5 on the season and are finishing up the season at Alsea on Saturday.

Ems Win

The Eugene Emeralds were on the diamond last night at PK park and defeated the Hillsboro Hops 5-1 for the first of 6 games at home.
