Siuslaw Elementary School Principal, Michael Harklerode will be moving to the High School as their new principal. Harklerode says he and his family have made a good life here in Florence and is looking to expand his work with the school district.
“Very excited by this opportunity. 11 years at the elementary school has been very well spent, I’ve enjoyed my time here at the school it is going to be a lot of fun. I look forward to getting started.
Harklerode has spent a significant time as a classroom teacher and had supervisory and instructional coaching duties in the Hillsboro School District prior to coming to Siuslaw. Siuslaw District Superintendent Andrew Grzeskowiak says, “while the principal position at Siuslaw Elementary can be filled, Mr. H can never be replaced— luckily, he will be just up the road.” Harklerode will begin his new job July 1
