Athlete of the Year Finalists
The selection of the Athlete of the Year through the Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports will be announced tomorrow at a special assembly at Siuslaw High School. the finalists for Male and Female athlete came down to four Siuslaw boys and four Siuslaw girls and one boy from Mapleton and one girl from Mapleton. The finalists are Rylee Colton, Hayden Muller, Bailey Overton, Desi Tupua, and Opal Burress (M), for the girls and Camp Lacouture, Beau Erickson, Hunter Petterson, Chad Hughes and Joe Shepard for the boys.
Two to Compete in Nike Outdoor Championships
There is one more athletic event for two Siuslaw athletes. The upcoming Nike 2022 Outdoor Nationals will be on June 16th through the 19th. Kyle Hughes and Camp Lacouture will both compete in the Pole Vault. Lacouture is ranked 22 in the state followed by Hughes who is ranked 23.

Tomorrow signifies the beginning of the College World Series. The OSU Beavers will host the regionals. They will meet first with New Mexico State tomorrow at 7 pm with a 6:30 pregame on KCFM. On Saturday they will face either Vanderbilt or San Diego. The Ducks are up against Michigan from Louisville Kentucky tomorrow at 4pm. They will face either Louisville or SE Missouri State on Saturday.
