Heading to State: Track and Field

More Viking Athletes qualified for the State Championships on Friday.  Hunter Petterson qualified in the 200 meters after taking first place in the districts on Friday and for the 400 meter with a second place finish.  Siuslaw had 3 qualifiers for the 800 meters.  Sam Ulrich, Dylan Jensen and Jacob Blankenship.

Sam Ulrich and Kyle Hughes also qualified for the 1500 meters. And Kyle Hughes and Brayden Linton qualified in the 3000 meters.  Noel Hernandez and Lucian Murphey qualified in the 110 meter hurdles and Noel also qualified in the 300 meter hurdles.

The team of Hunter Petterson, Noel Hernandez, Raymond Brito-xilot and Dezmond Anderson will represent Siuslaw in the 4X100 relay and the 4X400 relay will have the team of Petterson, Brito-Xilot, Jacob Blankenship and Sam Ulrich.

After qualifying for the discus on Thursday, Jonathan Rose also qualified for the shot put and the Javelin.  Will Johnson will also be going to state in the Triple Jump.  Maya Wells and Alison Hughes are added to the list of women representing Siuslaw in the 1500 meters and the 3000 meters.  Wells will also compete in the 800.

Viking Baseball Playoff

The Siuslaw Viking Baseball team will head to Grants Pass today to take on the North Valley Knights in 3A baseball playoffs.  The game will be aired on KCST beginning at 4:15.

College Baseball

The Oregon Ducks finished off the Pac-12 regular season with a pair of wins against the Utah Utes.  On Saturday the Ducks ended the season with a 15-3 victory.

The Oregon State Beavers got their sweep of the Western Carolina Catamounts with a Friday night 23-5 drubbing and a Saturday 8-4 victory.

 

Pac 12 tournament action begins on Wednesday for the Beavers with Arizona.  It is scheduled for a 9:30 morning start and will air on KCFM.  Pac 12 tournament action for the Ducks will begin tomorrow against Cal at 7pm.
