Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate junior Siuslaw cross country runner Gracie Freudenthal as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Gracie set a personal record in the 5000 meter race at the Warner Pacific XC Classic on Saturday beating her previous time by 21 seconds with a time of 20:40.2 . Her performance assisted the team in the Varsity Silver Division.
Honorable mention goes to senior Siuslaw volleyball player Mia Collins. Collins totaled 23 kills and 22 digs with 5 serving aces against Marshfield and Elmira.
Volleyball
The Lady Viks close out the regular Sky-Em League volleyball season at home with the visiting Tigers. Games between Siuslaw and Junction City get underway at 6:30.
